GoldenTree Asset Management
Does anyone know anything about GoldenTree Asset Management? They seem to be a hybrid firm split between more traditional opportunistic HF strategies and safer AM strategies. Is that correct?
What has their performance been like in the last few years? Their assets seem to have steadily grown since inception (almost $30Bn now).
Does anyone know about their reputation on the street? What other funds think of them?
Thanks
Strong credit fund - within the industry they are highly regarded as a good firm. I don't know much about the groups specifically but would be hard pressed to think they are mainly "safer asset management strategies" - likely taking large positions in HY/stressed/distressed names and trading in and out as well as they want.
Don't know anything about the culture, sorry can't help there.
If you're a student and/or 1st year IB analyst this should definitely be a firm you should be looking to move to.

thanks! happy to hear any other input.
Here you go Ekoa
I really want to hear the response haha
Why's that?
Yeah I would hold off on that specific Tree. I have had less than excellent experiences with them and have declined their business moving forward. Sweatshop culture.
always go for hedges > bushes > trees. Everyone knows that.
Can you expand on this?
