Goldman Sachs Veterans Integration Program *Phone Interview in a week*

Hi,

As mentioned in previous posts I'm currently active duty military trying to make the transition to the finance world. I just landed a phone interview with Goldman for the veterans program and am looking for words of wisdom. It's in about a week so I'm doing my best to prepare. I read the threads already posted on here but am hoping there are a few in the process or have been through it to talk to these days. Please let me know through a post or PM and hopefully we can chat more. Is there anyone else in the running right now? Thanks!

I had my phone interview on Monday. I didnt think it went great and was stressing the past few days. I got an unexpected call this morning from another GS veteran associate. He was extremely chill (turns out he was in the same extracurricular club as me) and just wanted to make sure what department I wanted to join (i originally had operations as my top preference). He is calling back tomorrow to give me some advice and resume tips. Either im moving on or getting tips to pursue something else.

PM sent usunk. That sounds great. It looks like you have someone who will be looking out for you. I interviewed on Wednesday but have not heard anything yet haha! Feeling the same as you were. I didn't think it went great but not horrible. Just hoping I got the nod for the next round. Eh you can reply here or in PM. You still looking at operations or did you change things up?

I just finished going through the Goldman VIP process, awaiting results now. Process was like OP's, with a few differences:

  • Applied mid-december, expressed interest in IB and Securities divisions
  • Got email after Xmas for a phone screener
  • phone screener mid Jan
  • invited to superdays with IBD and MBD in mid Feb

edit: got an offer in early march, about 2-3 weeks after superday

The application/interview process was challenging & rewarding--definitely recommend any vets who are interested give it a shot.

"We are still collecting the divisional selections for the Veterans Integration Program.  Someone from our team will contact you next week with regards to your status."

:o

I did not get that email, but then again I did not apply for the program. They just sort of piggy backed me on because of my veteran status when I sent them my resume a few weeks ago.

Hopefully thats good news for you though.

It looks like calls are going out today with offers. I just got mine and am super excited. Now i just have to work my military separation date to be in NY by the 7th.

What divisions were you given offers in? I still have not heard anything- I assume I will get a non select email at some point today.
