Good News: UT Austin McCombs MSF will get STEM designation by the end of this summer, class of 2019 to be STEM designated!

McCombs MSF will join Vanderbilt (top MSFs with STEM designation) this summer. Keeping in view the current state, foreign students getting sponsored by employers right away after graduation is getting increasingly difficult. So this gives foreign student increased flexibility before getting their H1B.

Lastly, the curriculum of McCombs is great, all the big 4 recruit there for non accounting positions plus some MM investment banks & valuation firms, and I believe it should be on anyone's list applying to MSFs, especially after obtaining STEM designation.

Do they not get access to the same OCR as McCombs undergrad?

I am thinking of doing McCombs MSF, but I'm going to be targeting real estate development/investing roles in Texas. Unfortunately, there are no decent real estate masters programs in Texas apart from McCombs MBA with RE concentration.

Do you think 2 year of work experience (Real estate development) albeit outside of US would hurt me in terms of placement ? I would recruit for RE investing roles.

No info on website because it isn't approved by Department of Homeland Security yet but they expect it approved within this year. When it's confirmed, they will advertise it on their website as well.
