Good Periodicals to Read
If I'm interested in working at a REIT, REIB, or REPE, what are some periodicals should I be reading to keep up with the news related to the industry?

Career Resources
The main reading material (re alert, commercial mortgage alert, real estate finance, property week for europe) will all be expensive as a single user and are mostly supplied by companies for their employees.
If you can figure out to get access to WSJ (I think you can just google search the titles to get past the paywall?) their weekly commercial RE articles that come out on Wednesday are good for following general trends in the RE industry and will give you something to talk about in interviews.
www.cpexecutive.com
www.globest.com for your local markets
don't know many other free ones although I'm sure others do.
Thanks! This is just what I was looking for!
Yep. Plus check out Cassidy Turley, Transwestern, etc. quarterly regional/national market reports. Every couple of weeks just go to one of the large commercial brokerage firms websites and most of them have a new or research tab where they put case studies/market reports/development or leasing activity/etc. Also, if you can find out the name of a specific fund within a PERE that has public employee pension fund investors, they will sometimes have their quarterly fund prospectus PDF's online.
If your NYC based the obvious one is the commercial observer. Paid trade publications that are good are the Commercial Mortgage Alert and Real Estate Alert
Check out the RE/MAX blog: http://www.remax.com/c/real-estate-advice/housing_wire_blog I read it pretty closely to stay up to date on the hottest real estate news.
This. Flippin' houses fo' dollaz'. lol
www.perenews.com www.irei.com
are both ok, but are subscription based.

I also subscribe to REIT magazine which is free.
Commercial real estate alert and real estate alert are the best in town
Commercial real estate alert and PERE
Privcapre.com has some decent limited content available for a free subscriber. Might be worth the registration.
Multifamily News Sources (Originally Posted: 02/20/2013)
Does anyone know of any good sources to be looking at for Multifamily? I am looking for reports like PwC Korpacz but for Multifamily Real Estate and even more specifically related to acquisitions, dispositions, and economic trends. I read the headlines of PERE because the subscription is rather pricey so the information I get is limited.
Any help would be great!
Thanks
For one, Multifamily Executive (MFE) is pretty popular, and it's free.
Bisnow has some good stuff.

Hey Monkies,
Just trying to get a feed on what is the go to for your commercial real estate sources and news. Post both national and local if possible.
i think this has been talked about before. i like the Deal ( http://www.thedeal.com/real_estate.php ) ... but the usual suspects are costar (which has local sections), reit.com , the real estate section of dealbook ( http://dealbook.nytimes.com/category/real-estate/ ) just to make sure you don't miss a major IPO or merger, realert.com , cmalert.com
another way to be on top of local stuff is your local business paper. for example, if you're in Phoenix, http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/
Real Deal is the place to go for NYC news

Came across http://commercialpost.com/ its great!
RealDeal is good, also reach out to Brokers in the respective markets to see what they use
