Growth Equity / Venture Capital Case Study

Hi everyone,

Aware there have been a couple of posts on Private Equity Case Studies, which largely involve LBO modeling.

However, I have an interview coming up with a venture capital / very early stage growth equity firm coming up and know there will be a case study that will be a bit different.

All I know is that it will be two hours of prep time and an hour of discussion, and that there will be a little bit of technical testing, but really the focus will be on other issues. Definitely no LBO (they don't use debt).

I've seen a couple of high level posts with key "points" to hit (basically Porter's 5 forces / industry trends / management team) but would be great to understand what makes a good / bad answer or even see some examples. Doing the former and a SWOT analysis seems a bit basic.

Does anyone have any experience with these sorts of case studies / good suggestions of resources?

I believe the case may involve making an investment recommendation based on a company the firm may have previously evaluated or invested in - you may need to have a strong understanding of the submarket/market and be able able to exemplify that in the Q&A session - what else do you know about the case interview?
