GS risk strats vs AQR quant research vs Citi quant S&T analyst Status message

I've received offers from several firms and I've boiled them down to the three. Since I'm from Boston, I'd like to give NYC a try. I've heard Greenwich is a 40 minute commute, so I'm considering AQR as well. How do these positions compare in terms of gaining experience and exit opportunities? How are they perceived by more senior people throughout the industry? Any thoughts in general?

Interesting... AQR was actually the place I want to go the least. Why do you think AQR is better than the other two? I think both GS strats and Citi quant will lead to great opportunities as well. Plus, I get to work in the city, opposed to Connecticut.

It's basically half hedge fund, half AM shop. AQR is one of those funds where equity options traders knew the guy on the other end of the phone knows what the hell he's doing. They tend to get a little more careful with their bids and asks.

GS Strats Risk is, to be clear, a MO role. GS has also discussed moving Strats into IT.

Citi Quant S&T is obviously FO, but S&T is a lot of stress compared to the buyside. I say that as a former sellside QR who moved to a firm like AQR.

This is a no-brainer. AQR first, then Citi S&T, then GS Risk.

Hi, I saw your post today and want to ask what did you choose at the end? And for GS risk strats, would you like to share what kinds of questions were asked? (If you remember any.) Many thanks!
