Has anyone made the successful transition from US -> UK?
Guys and gals how are ya?
I'm currently a trader in the power/gas space and was curious if anyone has made the transition mentioned in the title. I am not incredibly concerned with staying in my industry but figured that would be my best shot grabbing a job over there. I figured I could probably work in like a financial analyst role, but am really open to suggestions.
Ideally I'd like to live somewhere scenic-ish(?) doesn't have to be London, but again I am going to be limited where I would be able to live based on available job opportunities that will provide Visa sponsorship.
So, WSO folks from the UK, or ex-pats, would you mind dropping some knowledge on me?
EDIT: I'm 27 and going back to school has crossed my mind, but I believe I would prefer something a bit longer term, and although the idea has crossed my mind, going back to school is not very high on my list.

Successful transition from US to UK? This isn't really that much of a transition. The two countries both speak English and London is a good financial center. Its not NYC, but there are lots of top firms there.
I've heard stories of people having a tough time transitioning to parts of the Middle East or Asia, but the UK shouldn't be one of them.
In fact, this really shouldn't be an issue at all because if you're in the US, then NYC > London, because London sucks. Therefore, you really don't have to travel outside the country at all, just go to NYC. You're welcome. Thank me later.
I lived in NYC for a bit out of college, wasn't for me, I'm sure a ton of the you find that outrageous but it is what it is. As mentioned I'm in a bit of a specific industry, one I would consider pigeonholes you. If I were to go to a BB it would in probably land me in Houston, have lived there as well, not so bad but looking to spend more time abroad. That being said I don't think it would actually be a transition, more so a career reset.
Not to sound cliche, but I am not incredibly worrier about the money.

Have spent enough time living in places I'm not a fan of (Ft. Benning) so going for a different approach, pick the city, find the job.
