Hedge Fund Internship
I was applying for a internship in the hedge fund industry as a sophomore. I got an email saying they were looking for impressive candidates like me and if I could talk over the phone to talk more about the company and myself. I thought this was a phone interview as on glassdoor the company does phone interviews then on site if you pass. I scheduled the call for about a week later.
The call happened and we had our greetings. He asked me at the start if I had any questions and then he just answered a bunch of them and told me the typical recruitment cycles and to come check out the offices. It was only a ten minute call without going over my resume or behaviors or technicals. Was this just an informational because I am a sophomore and they typically higher Juniors or higher? I was really confused when the call ended. I was thinking I'm just going to send a thank you letter and take them up on the offer to tour the offices. Did I over read the situation?
