Hedge fund/portfolio managers with PhD
Which fund managers come to mind that have a PhD? I have obviously ran the searches in LinkedIn etc., but the amount of managers who are registered there is somewhat limited. I am trying to get an understanding of the opportunities out there for PhD, what kind of investment styles they follow and how they transitioned into industry roles after their PhD and take a look at the research they have published before moving over to industry. Thanks!
Cliff Asness, Jim Simons, just to name a couple...
Two of the smartest guys in the IM industry. Although, I'm not sure anyone in the space has ever compared to the genius of Jim Simons.
what Martinghoul said, Cliff Asness (AQR), Jim Simons (Renaissance); I will add Leda Braga (Bluecrest)
DE Shaw, plus a bunch of guys at Citadel
Holy fk Jim Simons earned a PHD in Math from Berkeley at 23? I need to give up on eventually becoming a HF mgr if that's the competition.
