HELP - Asking for a SA offer back after initially declining it
Here's the story: I received multiple offers in May for 2019 SA. I easily narrowed it down to two banks: an EB and a low-tier BB.
At that time, it was a tough choice to make but the people at the low-tier BB including head of a group convinced me to take their offer over the EB by giving me a verbal group specific offer.
Fast forward 2 months, shit kinda goes down. I just learned from a friend there that basically most of the group (including everyone present when I received the verbal group specific offer, senior bankers, staffer, etc) jumped ship to a different bank for more money. Obviously, I am extremely frustrated because the people who left are the only reason I chose them over the EB and they convinced me so hard to join their team instead of the EB. Guess I learned the hard way how the finance world works.
Now for the EB, my alum whos a MD there was shocked when I told him back in May I would have to decline the offer and take the low-tier BB offer (he asked me where I was going to sign instead when I declined). He kind of got pissed and even told me I made the wrong decision.
I've thought about this situation a lot, and I am thinking about reaching out to the EB to see if they would be receptive of me changing my mind and signing with them (I know for sure they still have spots). I'm 100% okay with reneging on the BB if the EB is willing to give me the offer back as the EB is head and shoulders a better bank, and no one at the BB now knows that I had a group specific offer. I wanted to see what some of your thoughts are on this? Current bankers, please help!

Still in college but I've always been told by mentors not to renege... it will cause problems for full time recruiting if you don't get a return offer
Also it's still at a BB, so not worth the risk imo
