Help! Undergrad from Non Target looking for advice on what to do to break into banking

Happy Holidays everyone, the reason I am making this post is that I am desperate for the guidance that I need in order to know what to do to break into banking. I want to make the most out of my winter break. I am currently a 3rd-year student at Rutgers who has no finance experience. I have been trying my hardest but I can't even get a first round interview. My GPA is mediocre (3.3) because my whole life I have been forced to work full-time jobs while going through school. I understand that GPA is garbage compared many others and I have been working in order to get it up to at least a 3.5.

My main question is, is there anything I can do from home in order to add to my resume so that I can have some sort of leverage during the recruiting season. I have been looking at getting an Excel certification and the Bloomberg certification.

I need honesty, any advice would help.

Also if you have any good book recommendations, I would love those as well.
