From what I know it's mostly Technology (internet, software, hardware) and no media and telecom (that's based in NY) and smaller healthcare team. Not sure in terms of exit ops as Tech scene in the Bay is mostly dominated by GS/MS/Q. I heard that the other BB's (CS, Citi, BoA, BarCap) are comparable in terms of deals/pitching in terms of trying to win joint bookrunner roles for IPOs or some sell-side advisory to firms like Thoma/ Silver Lake/ TPG.

Agree with the above. Think the group is generally on par with the other mid-tier BB's (BAML, CS, Citi). Deal flow probably lags a couple of those groups but Barcalys does do the M&A inhouse, which is a big plus. From what I've heard, exit opps are also in line and pretty standard - PE, growth/VC & corp dev (mostly tech companies).

Pretty good office, better lifestyle than their NYC tech counterparts for sure. I do have to say that the NYC tech group is oddly strong/underrated when compared to other bulge bracket NYC tech groups – internal m&a, no media and telecom deals, covers all tech verticals, group head in NYC. Analysts get smoked pretty badly but are constantly on m&a.
