how long before i follow up after super day?
I had a super day last friday - my interviews went pretty well but i haven't heard back yet. From what I've read on WSO, it's best to keep myself on their radar and show them I'm still interested. I had one of my interviewers reply to my thank you note, telling me to feel free to ask any questions I had - I'm thinking of emailing her or a recruiter from HR about my status. We were told we'd hear back in a week, so how long should i wait until I follow up?

Anything over a week. I'd wait a week and a half at minimum.
What level is this for? If the process is structured such as for ib analyst/intern level or PE associate level, they will usually get back to you in a week or less, so you'll have nothing to lose to follow up b/c it probably means you're on the edge if you haven't heard back either way. If it's for a position more senior and less structured, you should wait a little longer b/c recruiting becomes out of sight out of mind at that point for people.
what was your outcome? I am at 1.5 weeks since my superday. I want to follow up but I am wondering how much more time I should allow to pass
You were supposed to call the MD as you were walking away from the interview.
As he answers, quickly quip: "miss me yet?" like a clingy ex-girlfriend. Lock eyes with him when you say this as you're only 20 feet away, and you're pretty much golden for your whole career from there.

Should have sent follow-up same day. Why'd you think waiting a whole week (and now even longer) would be the best idea, despite acknowledging that decisions get made within 48 hours? You probably didn't get the offer but you could reach out to HR and ask them how long the process typically takes at their firm for closure. I remember applying to a BB as a sophomore for a front office spot, with little hopes of anything and remember getting a rejection e-mail from them mid summer (7 months later?) while I was already interning at another BB.

I am hoping to get your advice on this. I had my final round interview with BCG (Asian office) about 2 weeks ago (12 days to be exact), during the interview, the director told me she would get back to me early next week, which is the past Monday/Tuesday. But so far, I haven't heard anything from her or the HR, should I email the director to follow up? (I already sent a thank-you email right after the interview). I don't want to sound too pushy, but I really want to get this position! :) What should I do?

Why would you email or call them? Do you really think they forgot about you?
Depending on the firm, they may not even bother to contact rejected applicants, and instead just hope you eventually get the point.

2 1/2 weeks ago I had a superday at a MM/Boutique for an IB Analyst position. In my opinion, it went really well. I nailed all the technical questions and thought that the fit was just right (I was able to turn nearly every interview into a casual conversation). I sent Thank You emails to the eight people I interviewed with (four of which responded, which I thought is usually a good sign) and they told me I could expect to hear back in a week or two. Two weeks later, no word. I followed up with two people a couple days ago and...nothing.
When should I follow up again, and how? Is it time to pick up the phone, or is that being too pushy?
It sounds like you might have been put on a waiting list... I would give it a little more time, and send another email reiterating your interest and asking for an update.

That makes sense, but is it normal to not hear that directly? Maybe it's just me, but I would much prefer them being upfront about it than leaving me in limbo.
If you were put on the waiting list, you typically do not hear back until they make their decision.

Probably truer at BB banks that MM's...sometimes people get busy, or take time to decide, or you could also just be waitlisted. If you were rejected outright you'd probably have heard by now.

I am having mixed feeling on this...
Yeah thank you responses don't really mean much in my experience either. I've received them from interviews that didn't go so well (where I didn't get offers) and haven't received them from banks at which I've gotten offers by higher level employees/interviewers directly calling me to offer me the job before HR called with the details.
Thank you responses are no indication of offer status. I would say if you do not hear back by Friday, follow up on the following Monday.

MM I worked at would only bring in one candidate at a time usually around lunch. They may be interviewing other people all week.
I believe it is more common with MM/boutique banks where they are more "careful" about who they hire (in that they make fewer hires and really interview them thoroughly). Someone with more experience would know more.

Yes. Relax. You have done well to have gotten this far, and it sounds like you have done your preparation. Now you just need to come off like someone these guys can trust and would want to work with.
Had my last round on Friday. I think it went well. The MD mentioned that hopefully they can put the "paper work" together before Thanksgiving. So what paper work? Offer letter? or "interview feedback paper..

Yeah let the bankers enjoy their Thanksgiving...although it may seem crazy to you because of how much you're thinking about it, the bankers are much more interested in Thanksgiving.
I guess I will follow up COB if I hear nothing.

at the end of the interview with the MD, he mentioned "hopefully we can get the paper work together before thanksgiving, if not, right after.
If you want to follow up go ahead, but don't keep doing it- that'll annoy them. If they're going to give you the job, they're going to give you the job. If they don't want to give it to you, repeatedly asking about it won't help. Perhaps a 1-2 line email reiterating your interest in the position and that you're looking forward to hearing about the outcome of your application would suffice.

Geez, still waiting. This is harder than I thought.
Did you follow up? It sounds like you may be heavily wait-listed. I've seen it happen before. They are most likely waiting for others to accept or reject offers before deciding whether to extend one to you. I also know someone who has been waiting for over 2 weeks past the initially stated response time to hear back as to whether s/he has an offer or not. Hang in there and keep recruiting on the side.
