I'm not sure why you would expect anything different? You're not obligated to go out with your colleagues outside of work hours or really mingle with them so why not just focus on the work and avoid getting engaged with activities that make you uncomfortable? As you gain more experience and go through many jobs you'll learn that every company has something or someone that you don't like.

Side note: reading that you identify as a 'hipster' was pretty cringe.

Also wonder wtf someone 'artsy' is doing in IB.  You're really here because the money is okay?  Must be the biggest sellout of all time, lmao.  btw, I replied to this because it's 'prima-donna' not 'pre-madonna'.  Jus ta friendly fyi.  Prima Donna is a term from the Opera world; it is the lead female singer in a production.  Nothing to do with Madonna the singer although one wonders what post-Madonna would mean in that context.

I would be surprised if you exit to someone more in-line with the hipster vibe. You can either work to fit in better (you don't want to be the weirdo on the floor) or you can look at different careers.

A bad cultural fit sucks and it's tough to ever get into the groove, so you probably want to rectify this sooner rather than later.
