They take first generation students. So yes, you can be a straight asian/white male and as long as your parents never went to college ur fine

 

from my experience doing accelerators with modernguild, firms mainly come to the association to grab diversity candidates so you’ll definitely have better odds to get interview offers if you’re from diverse background. As a diversity candidate I applied to a lot of their opportunities and got selected for about 50% of them whereas my non-diversity (with better resumes) applied and never got one so I guess you should still shoot your shot but not expect too much out of it

 

Other way around in my experience, I was non diversity and got a BB IB offer despite 3 of my diverse friends at the same school with similar stats not getting anything, I really think a lot of luck is involved in addition to the hirevue being weighted heavily. Also comes down to who the companies want to select.
