I Think it's Time WSO went mobile

It makes things alot easier these guys need to get with the times an app maybe ? Think of how sleek and easier the site would be for the guy or girl on the go

UPDATE from AUG 2019 - WSO MOBILE APP IS LIVE: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/wso-mobile-app-is-here-ios-and-a…

Check the related threads - this has been a request since before half of us started using WSO.

Yes this is the time. But I doubt they will go mobile even now. So many other threads have people posting about it. If they really wanted to consider it they would have. But they did not. We can always try creating the application and offering it to them. Maybe this way we get what we want.

Everyone says they want "mobile" or an app, but nobody can communicate to me what an app do that the mobile site woudl do that could justify the major expense.

Right now the site is mobile friendly changing to 1 column, bigger buttons, etc when you view it on your mobile device, so am I missing something here?

What would an app do that would make WSO mobile experience better?

Thanks guys, Patrick

What would an app do that would make WSO mobile experience better? We just made some major improvements to the mobile site to make it sleeker and a better experience...have you tried it recently?

Can you give us specific suggestions on how to improve it?

Thanks guys, Patrick

Personally, I actually hate mobile sites, especially when there's no option to view in desktop mode. Anyone with a decent data plan can get around a desktop site just fine on their mobile device without having to deal with limited functionality.

I wonder if some don't realize that they can add the WSO page to their homescreen as a webapp on iOS platforms? It used to be that the ability to send push notifications was a big benefit of apps but websites can also send them now per a recent update...

IMO patrick just keep doing what you're doing in terms of optimizing the layout to fit the mobile browsing experience. I think we're going to see movement away from dedicated applications, and I don't believe the exhaustive effort to create multiple applications for all the different platforms offers any extra value over a mobile website.

Yeah, I mean, adaptive design has really taken over in the last ~6 months vs. apps when you realize what a pain in the ass it is to develop across 3-4 platforms.

I'm still open to improving our mobile site...I think it offers 99% of the functionality though. I'm always open to suggestions, I just like specific suggestions and it's frustrating when people ask for a "mobile app" when we spent a ton of time and money to get the site optimized for mobile... and then they can't say what the mobile app would do differently (besides push notifications, which is coming to desktop and mobile hopefully soon).

I almost never surf the net on my phone because so many sites are obnoxious, but I just checked out the mobile version of WSO. Please DO NOT change it. I am using it from now on, this is probably one of the best mobile designs I've ever seen. It's fast, simple and has decent functionality. I'm pissed I didn't check it out sooner.
