I'm a rising senior who struck out on recruiting at an undergraduate B-School. What are my options?

I am entering the final year of my undergraduate education at a respectable business school (think Villanova/BC/UMich), and have no real path in sight. I was passed on by essentially every bank or Big 4 that recruits on campus, and am weighing my options. The current front runner is to shoot for an MBA at a top B-School and hope to have better luck this time around. Can anyone offer up any advice?

What happened that you struck out? GPA, networking, lack of technicals?

I don't think MBA and "hoping for better luck" is the best idea. MBA is not ideal right out of undergrad, you need some work experience first. On the luck side, sure some people just get a little unlucky, but you make your own opportunities. Figure out why exactly you were passed over and fix it for full time.

MBA is only available if you have work experience. No top tier MBA will let you go in directly after undergrad. And even if they did, what makes you think your chances would be better when everyone else at the MBA level would have a lot more experience than you? Sorry to be harsh, but you need to look into why you struck out with IB and Big 4. Try to get into an FLDP. That can set you up for a great career and at any of those schools you'll probably have some great/prestigious companies recruiting. Do that for a few years, and if, at that point, you still want to do IB, look into getting an MBA.

I used to do Asia-Pacific PE (kind of like FoF). Now I do something else but happy to try and answer questions on that stuff.
