Incoming SA - Bag
Luckily I will probably go also in the office. What kind of bag do you like most? Messenger/Laptop bag or a backpack? I can imagine I will carry only the laptop and maybe a notebook

Who the fuck cares bro.
No one cares, but it's more to see what people like most. I used to carry a backpack but I found it pretty inefficient given that I put only the laptop. Any suggestion also in term of brands is accepted 🥺

I usually bring my Longchamp Le Pliage, which is about the most basic bag one could bring, but it works for everything I need including a 15" laptop.
I sometimes feel like everyone has this bag. It's pretty big, durable, and not too expensive.
If you're cool with taking a few jokes about wearing a purse, then I'd say go for it.
Go backpack. Much more practical and you have more room for various things: water bottle, keys, wallet, jacket, books etc.
Obviously a professional looking bag. Nothing outdoorsy or too sporty.
Briggs & Riley backpack or briefcase. A bit pricey.
B&R has very nice sales every now and then, too late for this summer but worth checking on them now and then for FT.
Tumi Alpha Backpack - Literally everyone on my team from AN to MD has it. Bit pricey for students tho. Anything that looks similar should be fine.
If you're an SA take whatever works. Backpacks are best. Don't carry your laptop around in the duffel your firm provides as it's utterly useless for that. And don't drop a ton of money on a tumi or something just yet. No one will care, just focus on performing well.
For my SA stint I had an Alpine Swiss bag that worked great (similar to the one below). It’s real leather and holds everything that you could possible need to carry to and out of the office.
