INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OR INVESTMENT BANKING.

Hello everyone,

I have started my management studies from Germany. Its been one year and am looking forward for investment management career . I have 4 years of Professional experience in IT company. Hence I would like to know is it a good step to enter in IB world or sticking around IT would be beneficial. Because you all have knowledge through networks or IB professional and would like to know from you all ,may be you have came across a fellow like me in your career or at some event.

Also , I am have taken course in Udemy for Investment Banking, Finance analyses and also thinking for Fixed Income , Derivative, corporate Evaluation

Please let me know your suggestions.

Regard
Jayant

Seems like you already answered the question for yourself. If you want to go to any finance career, IB is a a great place to start. However, it isn't for everyone. So if you think that you can take the 18-hour workdays (sometimes even longer), the horrible bosses (no pun intended for the movie), and all the other shit that goes along with the job, then go for it, But if you have any doubts, even for a second, then I would consider skipping IB and going straight for something like AM/HF/TR and starting there.

Npte; I would change your name to something that isn't your real name. Don't want to our tyour name out there for everyone to see
