Internship Wasted My Summer... Now What?

So I interviewed for a BB PWM internship in late May. I didn't hear from them again until mid June when they told me I got the position and I should be starting in a week or two. They were just waiting on contracts to give me before I started. These contracts didnt get to my house in the mail until July. After sending these contracts back they pretty much stopped contact with me. I proceeded to call them once or twice a week until August, not getting any answers about my internship. Recently they got back to me and said that their "company policy" is not to hire any interns for less than 2 months so I can't work there anymore. Still, they said they "feel bad" so I can put it on my resume anyway. Besides the obvious moral dilemma should I do this? I'm not sure what I would say when my interviewers next summer ask about my work experience. Honestly at this point I'd rather call them back to tell them to go **** themselves than put their company on my resume. Either way my summers been completely wasted (both time and loss of wages) and I'm not sure what to do now.

ask to see if you can do a part-time (15-20 hours) per week during the school year provided that you are able to get to their office. I know a few students who did this for a quarter/semester or possibly longer if they wanted too.

Every morning, there is a bank called time. It credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.

It's a weird offer but I would put it on there. It's better than having nothing at all. PWM exp. should be easy enough to summarize into a few generic bulletpoints...Still kind of weird to pretend and bs about it at your future interviews...That would make uncomfortable.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

man that is def a hard question.... idk what i would do cuz if u put it on your resume and your future interviewers ask you about it what will you say? idk man

Best of luck with your decisions!

I want a lady on the street, but a freak in the bed, Go Bucks!!

This is clearly a crappy situation you were in this summer, and it also sucks that you didn't have anything else in the works but it totally makes sense as to why. I'd be tentative to put it on your resume because you'd be screwed if they asked you if you could contact them, also because you don't want to get caught in a lie and totally screw yourself. You should try and see if you can do something part time at a shop near your school. It may be hard with having to study and all, but it is really important to have experience on your if you want to get your foot in the door.

As always, network your ass off. Don't be shy, anyone that may have the ability to help you, you should definitely reach out to them. Meet as many people as possible. Good luck.

If I were you, I would also be cautious about putting it into your resume. I understand that you are in a shit situation but you can't make up experience that you don't have. Maybe just put the title of the Company, and put your position as intern, and if your interviewer asks about it then you can explain the situation.

That really sucks. Don't include it on your resume, though. In another year, if somebody checks on your employment history, I guarantee they will have no record of you. If they failed that bad this summer, don't expect them to be there in the future to verify your resume listing.

You have a good story for interviews, but skip including it on your resume.
