Investment Analyst at this Family Office - Is this a "real" investment role?

Hey guys,

So there is a job ad for an "investment analyst" at a family office. They have a few prominent families on file. Despite the name "investment analyst" this doesn't seem like i would be doing "investment analysis". I'm basically unsure.

Role would be "assisting with analysis that feeds into the development of investment strategies to be recommended to clients". The role apparently is to "support the CIO and investment team in all aspects of investment management and reporting", including "analysis on client portfolios, investment managers, capital markets". They will also be assisting the CIO on analysing direct investment for clients, including return/risk reviews.

They deal in equities, credit, private equity, fixed interest, property, agriculture and absolute return.

Here are the responsibilities:

 Work with the investment team to deliver investment portfolio reviews to be included in quarterly Board and CIC papers
 Analysing different investment markets and opportunities to assist the CIO to make appropriate portfolio recommendations for clients
 Assist in the development of investment cases for a broad range of investment opportunities
 Assist in the maintenance of Redacted Investment Policy Framework
 Undertake analysis to support the setting of asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager due diligence, selection and monitoring and other investment related projects
 Following up on client portfolio changes and ensuring efficient implementation of clients’ investments.

So how should i characterise this? Because i don't know how much responsibility i will be actually getting or whether this is a "real" investment role.
