Is Career Banking for me?

Hey y’all! Wanted to just get your guys’ take on how did you know you could be a career banker (as in Analyst to Associate to VP to Director to MD). I know most people decide to exit after 2 years, but I’m curious to know what it takes to stay a career banker.

For me, I’m not dead set on PE, and I’m interested in becoming more client facing, so is it unrealistic for me to want to be a career banker? I know essentially, it’ll be a grind for like 6 years. Is it worth - wanted to hear your thoughts! Thanks for any insight?
