Is the party worth it?
I am sure all of us have had the night where the drinks went down to good and limits were passed. After hearing stories of people getting arrested... is the party worth it? One wrong move and your future could be over. Opinions?
What party are you exactly referring to?
Clubs and college parties
how hard is it not to do something too stupid
the party is always worth it.
You can always retake a class, but you can never relive a party.
Saw this on the wall at a bar tonight...
"You never remember the nights that you got a good night's sleep."
I spent my 20s/early 30s living that way and don't regret it for a minute. As I've gotten older, the partying has tapered off some, mostly because I'm married. A couple of minor arrests can help you grow hair on your chest.
There is a pretty wide line between having some fun on a regular basis and throwing your life away.
Although during my exchange year in the U.S I was sometimes baffled by the overly negative perception of alcohol from the university community (marijuana was a different story). When I asked if the university had a student pub on campus, people looked at me like I was an alien.
Cool down and have a zip. Or two.
Whaaaat. Which U.S university did you go to exchange to? Must have been some UChicago kind of uni for any uni student to have a negative perception of alcohol.
Work hard, play hard was invented for a reason.
Went on a pretty epic bender with rufiolove on Saturday, but nobody got arrested. If my choices are a good night's sleep or an off-the-hook rave in a 1st-century gladiator arena, well, I think you all know which way I'm going.
With today's legal system/hustle of lawyers you need to fuck up PRETTY HARD in order to efficiently ruin your life. Especially if you have a clean slate going into the court room.
op a virgin
Haha nope. Just woke up from getting hammered the night before and wondered if it was worth it. That's all.
We haven't "all" had those nights, so you shouldn't be so "sure." Stick to your day job because you're a shxtty psychic.
You sound uptight, you should have one of those nights.
It is always nice to have a crazy night out, but eventually you get tired of it (or so I hear)
With that said, yes. yes it is.
I have done some dumb shit while hammered, but luckily never got in serious trouble. Always, for about two weeks after a particularly terrible bender, I tell myself I need to grow up/stop blacking out/cut back on the partying. Then a Friday rolls around after a crappy week of work and a buddy will call me up to meet for drinks. After work drinks turn into a rager and all of a sudden I remember how much I like to rage.
There are definitely a few nights I wish I could take back, and I have all but stopped drinking hard liquor, but I like to party and probably always will.
