Global stocks: Edging lower, and oil prices have plunged to 17-year lows at the start of another week set to be dominated by the coronavirus pandemic. U.S. stocks: Rallied on Monday. The investor optimism came despite President Trump extending the U.S. lockdown to April 30 and public health officials warning that the American death toll could be between 100,000 and 200,000 with cases in the millions. Do you think markets will run bull from now or is it a bull trap? Will VIX follow contango or backwardation period in the next few weeks?

I think it's a dead cat bounce. Remember, consumer confidence dropped in March. Companies are not paying leases. Cheesecake Factory, for example, announced that it's not paying its April Rent, and for the most part, they've furloughed workers. REITs like Taubman and Simon Properties, which both manage malls, are going to be hit hard by the lack of sales due to Coronavirus-related store closures. How many landlords are working with tenants over handling rent payment and obligations due to lack of revenue. Same holds true for residential rents and mortgages.
