Jefferies Healthcare
Has anyone worked with this group in the past? I know they lifted the old UBS team, but what's the general consensus on this group's reputation now at Jefferies?

Arguably best group at JEF. Essentially operate as a BB group and usually rank top 5 on the street for HC. They have separate processes for many things within the bank when compared to other coverage groups, such as timing of bonuses, it's own staffer and sometimes alternative recruiting.
Not a chance it's their best group. Their Energy group is by far their best group. They murder it...
I was going to say the same..
Is it really top 5? Doesn't seem like they're very active on $1B + deals
Not sure about more recent deals but in the past they have definitely been in the upper tier as far as I have been able to tell.

That is correct, I meant in terms of needing more people off-cycle. Also big fans of Boston College at the analyst level since the global head of healthcare is an alumn.
They are a great group though... I would agree with top 5 certainly, you could argue that they are top 2-3...
Don't work at Jefferies, but Clever Name is right. The HC team picks from the generalist pool just like all the other groups. Also, believe it or not, my friend tells me not every 1st year analyst at Jefferies is just dying to work in Healthcare. Lots of interest in groups like M&A, FIG, A&D, & Industrials.
