Rates is a very macro focused product, and there's arguably no more interesting time to be in rates than today given everything going on macro wise. You're seeing one product on both sides of the spectrum (granted one is EM) but will still be a great learning experience. You should be expecting (if you're in person) to do a lot of shadowing (if people are ok with it given covid), note taking, questions, etc. Focus on learning if this is something that interests you and something you want to pursue a career in. Understand what specific product within rates different traders do, why salespeople act a specific way or care about orders in different manners... just try to integrate and learn if this is something that really interests you.
