KPMG launches Global Investment Fund

What do you guys think of this move? Boom or bust?

Its definitely unheard of for a Big 4 firm to branch out into this area of the financial services industry. Given the vast resources of the firm, they may indeed be able to pull this off. However, do they really stand a chance against the more traditional investment firms that have been around for a lot longer than they have?

I haven't read anything on the issue, but I imagine there may be tons of conflicts of interest that they'll need to overcome. They touch so many different companies with their audit services. I also imagine working there would be a compliance nightmare (just like doing PE at a retail bank can be a nightmare). All I know is what you've written though -- so I guess we'll see.

No question, but I'm guessing it may be more venture-like and focus on targets below KPMG's accounting range.
