Laptop for financial modeling

Hey everyone,

Please help me choose the right option:

1) Dell Latitude e5470 Core i5-6300hq(2.4-3.2 MHz, quad-core, no hyper-threading), works 7 hours on battery, 0.913 inches thick

2) Dell Latitude e7470 Core i5-6200u(2.2-2.8 MHz, dual-core, hyper-threading), works 9 hours on battery, 0.764 inches thick.

Both come with 256gb ssd.
In the photo, the second options is on top, the first one is under second.

I like portability of the second choice, but, how do you think, is it future-safe? I'm planning to use it 3+ years. Maybe I should opt out for a better CPU?

I'm doing some financial engineering, big data analysis, not at an advanced level, though.

Thanks a lot.
