Lateraling from MM to BB/EB Outcomes?
There has been a lot of good content on this website on how to go about lateraling and the overall process. What I have not heard or seen is much discussion on the actual outcome. If you make the lateral move from a top MM to a BB/EB, and then recruit for PE, a strong portion (if not the majority) of your resume and deal experience will be related to work done at the MM. Headhunters and PE firms will see this and will likely (as they should) judge you more based on the MM.
From people's experiences, and please interns and prospects don't chime in and hypothesize what they think SHOULD happen, have you seen lateral hires exit as successfully to buyside positions compared to analysts who started FT in that analyst class.

Good on you. This endless journey from SA stint, to full-time MM stint, to lateral process, to full-time EB stint, to buyside recruiting sounds downright exhausting. I pray you land MF from EB.
Yeah had a guy above me literal from MM (think Jefferies/HL) to our firm (pjt/evr/cvp) did two years and left for MF (WP/LG) so yeah definitely possible.
He was also on a $8bn+ WSJ front page type deal so that probably helped as well
How long was he with your firm prior to starting recruiting
