Lawyer tells NYC restaurant employees to stop speaking spanish

http: //www.foxnews .com/us/2018/05/18/nyc-lawyer-aaron-schlossberg-under-fire-for-racially-charged-rant-facing-legal-complaints.html

From the article:

"The New York City lawyer caught on video this week launching a racially-charged tirade against Spanish-speaking restaurant workers is facing legal complaints from elected officials and has been booted from his office as his whirlwind fall from grace continues Friday.

Aaron Schlossberg, who has been continuously denounced on the Internet since the footage emerged Wednesday, also has been panned by fellow lawyers over the clip in which he is heard threatening to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement to have workers at the Manhattan eatery “kicked out of my country."

Just curious to see what everyone's thoughts are, and whether this guy is right - should people in America only be allowed to speak English in public? Seems to me like a lot of people here think racism is fake and that there is currently a war against white people. For what it's worth, the guy's hate speech is not an isolated example of a tard doing something that would never happen again, unlike the stuff TNA likes to post before going "this is why all liberals are stupid and should just kill themselves".

The guy is a racist douchebag who deserves to be humiliated. However, as awful as he is, I do oppose threatening his safety or that of his loved ones, protesting in front of his condo, or threatening his livelihood. He did not commit a crime, and quite frankly, incidents like this do not deserve to be a national news item. Of course, liberals have a vested interest in catapulting this into the national spotlight, as it reinforces their identity politics and attempts to portray Trump supporters as racists. Compare this to the story of the black Trump supporter who wore a MAGA hat to a Cheesecake factory in Miami, where restaurant employees harassed him, physically threatened him, and even called him the N word. That story has not garnered much attention, and there is a real good reason for that.

Also, what's up with all the Latinos protesting in front of his apartment? I wish they showed half as much outrage at illegal immigration and MS-13. Oh well; one can only dream.

Controversial

The physical threats to his safety or that of his loved ones are out of bounds. Protesting in front of his condo is whatever, they have the right to do that. If someone caught me doing some shit like this I'd fully expect to lose my job (thus, my livelihood would be threatened). He should be disbarred (as I am sure this racist rant and the ensuing public disgrace falls outside the standards of professional conduct for the NY bar association). I hear what you're saying about the cheesecake dude but that has as alot to do with the fact that there is no video of that incident. Video makes these things spread like wildfire, we see this with police shootings, we saw this with Ray Rice knocking his GF out in that elevator.

p.s. those cheesecake employees were deservedly fired, and, according to Cheesecake factory, some of the reports were overblown: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cheesecake-factory-maga-hat-incident-overb…

Good point about the video. I was unaware of the link until just now, so I'm glad that those employees were fired.

Again, I have ZERO sympathy for Schlossberg, so this is in no way a defense of him. Rather, my point is a broader one: given how our nation is so divided, with tensions rising to levels not seen since the late 60's, I worry about the impact of nationalizing every incident in which minorities are adversely affected. Of course, actual crime committed by racists need to be prosecuted vigorously. But racist buffoons such as Schlossberg have existed since the beginning of time, and I'm not sure we as a society are better off by engaging in such hysteria.

Didn’t watch the video, don’t reallt care, but telling restaurant employees of a place your are eating at to speak English in a country where English is the defacto language isn’t a big deal.

America 2018 - someone is a bigot for talking about speaking English. Wow.
