Lazard AM --> Lazard IB?
Hi, I'm a shoo-in for Lazard AM summer 2022 because I have a connection and was wondering what the difficulty of lateraling over to IB would be for full-time recruiting? No connection in IB.

Impossible. Practically different companies, chinese wall runs across every facet of the firm including HR. IB side doesn't know anyone on the AM side and vice versa, and even if the person you know on the AM side did know the name of someone to call on the IB side, they would need a compliance chaperone to be on any emails/calls which is more effort than it would be worth.
I don't think it's that helpful personally. My understanding that is if you want to do IB, a lower prestige IB role is better than a higher prestige role in a different field. I don't think you could go to Lazard IB from Lazard AM
Similar to what others have said above, it will not help at all. Essentially two separate companies.
I thought Lazard AM was an exit opp, why would you want to go from there to IB lol
I thought Lazard AM was a bottom-tier asset manager with mediocre exits and comp is not that great. Does anyone think differently?
If that is the case then why would Lazard IB even consider taking you in?

Just had my second interview for Lazard AM ER position for next summer. They take 2-3 ppl yearly
When did you apply? How is that even possible the application opened on August 1st and you're saying you've heard from HR and scheduled two interviews this week? I'm calling BS
August 1st? I applied May 28th lol. And yes, im an intern in IB. Lazard Buyside er IS the exit after IB for me, obv I want that more
