Lazard SA 2020 updates?
Hey just wanted to know from incoming Lazard SAs whether they have had any updates from the bank regarding how the 2020 SA program is going to be structured (especially in London?, but anyone has any news on other offices too to gauge potential company policy?)
Haven't personally had a whole lot of updates on my end (no clue how London onboarding is going to work too) so wanted to know if anyone knew anything specific
Heard from a friend that they are supposed to give an update today (4/15).
Hope to hear something soon since need to fix housing and I've pretty much heard nothing re onboarding too. Don't wanna inundate HR with emails since they'll def be busy with all the changes so fingers crossed
Also curious for the New York office
Only got the update earlier this week that they were going to honor the full pay originally promised and to keep open the original dates. Any more specific information will probably be issued later in the month
Cheers for that. Would you mind saying which office was the update from? NYC/London?

"keep open" cryptic language. Doubt that they will have you be in NYC early June. What are your plans for housing given this info?

It appears from a prior email we got from them that they are encouraging us to hold off paying for housing but they want us to keep June 1 - July 31 opened. Still pretty vague but they will honor the pay outlined in our offer letter no matter what. Curious if anyone got their “relocation” payment yet?
Did anyone get the relocation payment? Also, got an update today the program will now be from June 22 - July 31 and we will get paid as if we did the full program. It will be 100% virtual.
Anyone knows how the situation can evolve in Paris offices?
Did I hear correctly that 2020 SA will have to do some online training? What is it exactly?
Anyone have updates for European SA (Paris / LDN), hope its not completely virtual?
Also, how would conversion rate be affected given some Off cycles already working there? Would we be less likely to get a spot if they have already gained in person experience?
Thanks
London sent out an email approx. 1 week ago saying the dates and structure are still being decided and that they'd follow up soon once those were confirmed, though as of now keep the original dates blocked. They're paying for the entire duration stipulated in the contract regardless.
No clue how off-cycles/industrial placement hires might affect SAs in this time but if I were to guess I think SAs are evaluated to a different degree because of the shorter time period.
Thanks for the clarification. I just don't see how they'll be able to evaluate us if it's only virtual. A big part of their judgement is culture and fit - which is difficult to evaluate over email / zoom.
Compared to off cycles, we will probably be less useful; I know for a fact we directly compete with them, so may affect SA conversion %.
I know last year was around ~50% conversion. I reckon there'll be no auto FT offer, and probably will have further interviews / tests once the internship is over. All speculative of course but I have a negative outlook for the summers, given their other hiring routes and small intake.
Update today for SA:
