Lazard Secondary Advisory
Does anything know about the culture at Lazard's secondary advisory group? There are some previous threads on the topic, but they seem pretty outdated. Is the culture/lifestyle here similar to other groups in Lazard? Strong learning opportunity?
What position in secondary advisory? Have you interviewed yet?
Does anyone have any updates on the culture and exit ops of a Lazard Private Capital Advisory role?
Any updates/insights into Lazard Secondary? I saw GS poached one of their bankers to start their own group.
Bump
In terms of secondary advisory, they are amongst the best alongside PJT with Evercore being the unquestioned and dominant #1. This team works on the most complex deals in the space with high profile mega fund PEs and often collaborate with their banking team.
They lost a few seniors recently, however, and I do not know how that's affected their dealflow.
used to be among the best. have really dropped off lately
Due to turnover or more of a temporary blip?
I have heard the PJT team was gutted in recent times from a friend who works at a large secondaries PE shop. Can anyone confirm? Apparently Jefferies took a lot of their guys?
Quite a few guys from PJT LDN went to Rothschild's new GP-led team
Probably due to turnover. There's a musical chairs talent war in secondaries so expect lots of ups and downs across firms
That makes sense to me. Just saw that MS is yet another entrant into the market - I guess they hired someone away from PJT. Wonder where these teams are going to get their mid-level/junior talent from.
