LDN Notice Periods
Looking to lateral but have a 3-month notice period at the junior level. Wondering how this is typically viewed? My firm just hired and analyst from an IB that had a 3-month and didn't mind waiting the 3 months. Is this the norm?
Anyone successfully negotiate this down on a lateral move?
Lots of analysts and associates have 3 month notice periods in London, totally normal
Thanks
Out of curiosity, why would you want to negotiate it down?
Normally, when you move to a competitor, your current bank will force you to leave the office immediately - giving you a 3 months garden leave. Honestly, I would just appreciate the 3 months off.
My thinking was it'll be more difficult to move. Firms typically want people to start as soon as they can so 3 months is quite a while to wait - especially when some people only have 1 month notices.
I agree, the 3 months would be quite nice.
