Long Coffee Line

Good Morning fellas, just like to hear your thoughts on coffee chat. People in the industry are generally busy and how do you deal with buying your network target coffee when the line is swell in Starbucks and you also have to wait there after payment since it’s so loud inside that you wouldn’t hear your order if you come back to the table.

Just had this experience yesterday, even feel kind of awkward while waiting.

Usually I'll just try to do some chit chat like how's your day, when did u come to work today, talk about the weather and transportation... Ask no serious questions. It's not so awkward for me personally...

Funniest

One thing you could try is loudly telling the barista and other customers that you are a “potential prospective applicant/interviewee at XYZ bank”. If no one rushes to help you and speed up your order/give you their coffees, then clearly the bank you’re networking with isn’t prestigious enough.

On second thought, maybe this is why I got stuck in corporate finance instead of IB.
