Looking for a Msc Finance - Some recommendations?

Hello everyone,

I am 26, hold BBA and work experience as a financial controller in a startup (5 years), co-founder and CFO of a startup (2 years) and 4+ years of M&A analyst in collaboration with a senior M&A consultant.

I would like to do a Msc in Finance/ Corporate Finance in a European University. Providing that I am from Spain, I leave Spanish universities at the bottom.

I saw:

  • RSM

  • Bocconi

  • SSE

  • HEC

-UC3M

  • ESADE

The problem I did not take the GMAT and my english is pretty low (Cambridge Advance at Grade C). Bachelor's grades are 8,4/10.

So, I am looking for recommendations about the above Unis and some others that could meet my background.

Thanks in advance!

Not gonna lie, almost all MFins ask for GMAT. Some UK ones don't only if you studied in the UK before. You could also consider IE in Spain but I think they require GMAT. If you don't want to do GMAT try GRE. Alternatively you could look for semi-targets that are considered quite good/decent in Europe (mainly in their local markets) and don't ask for GMAT.

These could include:

UCD Smurfit (Ireland - QS MFin rank: 24) Edinburgh (Scotland - QS MFin rank: 28) Trinity College Dublin (Ireland - QS MFin rank: 29) NB: they ask for GMAT in SOME cases Nova (Portugal - QS MFin rank: 34)

Don't live and die by rankings and don't base your decision solely on them. Also consider curriculum, where you want to work and how much your (good) professional experience will play a role in finding a new job.

Here's a place to start getting an idea but look around more: https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/business-masters-ra…

Thank you for your reply. After thinking a little about your comment, I could also consider the option of taking a whole year preparing a great GMAT (680-700) and IELTS/TOEFL to be a good applicant for one of these top Unis.

So, my options will be in terms of good value for money: RSM > SSE > St Gallen > ESADE.

Could you give me an alternative classification for the above 4 institutions for Msc Finance? Also highlight that I like Corporate Finance rather than Banking or IB. I also appreciate other universities not mentioned before (similar ones). ). I do not mention LSE/LBS, Warwick, Imperial, Bocconi or HEC because of its tuition fees+living costs.

Thanks again!
