Low GPA weird story..

Hey guys,

I am sophomore at Cornell with a 3.434 and after this semester it will most likely be around a 3.5. I am studying ILR which is known as one of the "easier" majors at cornell (it's pretty much econ mixed with gov/history), but still kind of challenging. I started off not in ILR and as a pre-med but I didn't do too well in my freshman year pre-med courses and it brought down my GPA a lot. I also decided I fucking hate medicine/science and became very interested in IB/finance.

So I need some direction: My GPA isn't at the 3.7+ mark for liberal arts majors, and most likely will not be for SA recruiting my junior year. I applied to some BB sophomore programs this year, had a first round with Citi/BAML, but butchered it. Now, I do not really know what to look for. I can hit up boutiques in NYC, but I am not in the position to work for free this summer (I don't come from one of those rich ivy league families and my hometown has no IB presence). I have been looking into real estate finance as that is something I may pursue in the future (acquisitions/development), but I still think IB is a better place to start my career.

This past summer I worked in basic PWM in my hometown, but feel like I should do something more transferable to IB.

Also, if there are any Cornell alum who can give me insight/advice for the recruiting process for BB/EB SA junior year, that would be nice too.

Thanks!
