Lucid Motors is (finally) launching its first production vehicle
Lucid Motors just released its final production model of the Lucid Air ahead of its Arizona factory's completion by the end of 2020 and its spring 2021 deliveries. Its highest end edition will have 517 miles of range, 9.9 second quarter mile time, 2.5 0-60 time, 200+ mile top speed, more than 1,000 HP, vehicle-to-grid capabilities, 20 cubic feet of cargo capacity (including the largest frunk of any EV), the fastest charging time in the EV industry (I believe 20 minutes to 300 miles). Priced at $169,000. Other trims delivering throughout 2021 and 2022 are at $80,000, $95,000, and $139,000.
This vehicle is the new gold standard of luxury and super luxury vehicles. Currently backed by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, Lucid is likely to IPO in the near future. I am definitely interested in buying some of the stock and I'm definitely interested in its 2022 $80,000 base model, which will probably have 350-400 miles of range, 0-60 in ~4 seconds.
Lucid's CEO is the former CTO of Tesla--he's responsible for the original 2012 Tesla Model S. THIS guy knows his stuff.
