MAA Logic / Customer Service - Anyone rent from them?

I have been renting with them since 2015 and their customer service and loyalty to customer is the worst I've seen of almost anywhere. Year after year they tell me that I could switch places to save $100 dollars a month or something, which is illogical in my mind (yet they won't give me $100 discount to re-sign). Now that I actually want to switch and possibly get a bigger place, it might end up costing the same as what I'm paying now, meaning that they have been screwing me for years. They seem to screw loyal tenants, yet let people in at low prices, according to market demands.

Has anyone dealt with this company - why does their business model seem so backwards?

As of December 31, 2017, the company owned 302 apartment communities containing 99,523 apartment units and 4 office buildings containing 231,821 square feet.1 The company is the largest publicly-traded apartment real estate trust in the United States.2

have you heard of this outfit - - - is this standard practice in real estate?

I just don't understand how they can neglect the customer so much as a public company. Most of my neighbors moved out because of this and they seem to prefer the people that cruise in and out for a year or two, rather than develop a relationship with long term customers (ie. sources of revenue).
