Macaulay honors college baruch vs northeastern

I am deciding between Macaulay honors college baruch or notheastern. I don't really know which specific field I want to go into, but I would hope to land in some big bank. If anybody in this chat went to Macaulay baruch or knows anyone that went, please let me know whether the Macaulay program actually helped. Also for both schools, cost is not an issue.

Northeastern is Overrated I have friends at both. Baruch will be totally free while nu is like 60-70k on average. NU is also in Boston and doesn’t really have killer ocr. I’d rather go to Baruch for free and be in nyc.

I went to Baruch and the Macaulay part does not help, practically the same as going to Baruch without it. You get lounge access, priority registration, tuition, a computer, and maybe some other stuff but it certainly does not help. In fact, in most cases, I saw Macaulay students as a number go to more back office roles. In going to Baruch, you really do make your own experience.

Not at all. The Macaulay kids end up doing very well academically but that does not really do much for you when recruiting. The early registration is good, but you can join other honors programs to get that advantage (Deans Scholar, ZUHPs). There are a few clubs at school that certainly help kids with recruiting but once again, the Macaulay thing doesn't help there. I would quickly glance at LinkedIn to see if its still the case where most of the Baruch kids that end up at good firms, front office roles, etc. are the ones that aren't from Macaulay, but the ones that kind of finessed their way in.

Currently in macaulay and landed an ib gig—feel free to pm me if you want to hear my experience / hop on a quick call
