McKinsey’s Undergraduate Women’s Summit
Has anyone attended McKinsey’s Undergraduate Women’s Summit? Especially interested to know if it gives you a leg up during recruitment for summer internships. Would appreciate any insight into the event.

sj13, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Maybe one of these threads could point you in the right direction:
If we're lucky, the following users may have something to say: LostConsultant CRO Darren-Zega
Hope that helps.

Also interested in hearing from someone who has previously attended the event!
^bumping it one last time
Know a couple friend's who went to the summit. I don't think it really affects your chances during recruitment - at max I'd imagine it may help you a bit for getting pulled for 1st rounds but is likely marginal and won't help if your GPA/past work experience doesn't make the cut. As for the event, it's basically a panel of women working at McKinsey (obviously) but they basically talk about what they do at McKinsey, give background on themselves, talk about initiatives they're doing, and basically do a really good job of convincing you that McKinsey is the place to be.
Do you know how selective the summit is?
Can't say for sure because I'm not sure if it's different per school or per office (also I'm a dude). I remember for the SF office one last year, there were mostly just people from Stanford and Berkeley, but within people from those schools it consisted of both freshmen and sophomores. Based on that, I don't think it was necessarily too competitive - but then again the people applying to those summits in the first place are likely all gunners.
That's interesting. I'm going to the SF office summit and I was under the impression that people from Stanford and Berkeley weren't supposed to apply to this program and it was targetted towards more non-target schools.
