Megafund PE vs. Product Management
My ultimate goal is upper management at a product-driven tech company. I'm currently at BB TMT, went through on-cycle recruiting, managed to land a role at a top tech MF buyout shop.
Is there any worth towards spending two years in this role if ultimate goal is product? Have a CS background and friends in the valley so I should be able to go directly into product out of banking, but don't know if it might be a good idea to spend two years at a MF before making the jump.

Tech MF buyout skill set is much more rare than product management IMO. You could always switch to PM later on. Would double check with your colleagues

I don’t think this is the right place to ask this.
If you’re 100% on Tech/Product, I would just go straight into product after banking.
Agree with this. I'm not sure why you would spend 2 years on deals / diligence / PortCo management if you want to be a PM. It's a very different job and those 2 extra years of product experience would be more valuable in every way (other than $).
