Mercer M&A Consulting vs BB Product Control

Very close to get an offer from Mercer in their M&A consulting practice. Although it sounds cool, the HR element of the firm kind of worries me (as it may pigeon-hole me?)

Want your opinions in regards to which is better assuming salaries are similar (base 90k USD - I am an experienced candidate). Which has better exit opps?

Thanks.

Product Control people in BB get no respect. You're an annoyance who comes around asking questions and it's easy to get labeled as an 'idiot' by those who merely have all the information and withhold key parts until you poke around and make an assumption, whereby they unleash it all to make you look dumb. It's akin to being an auditor. However depending on the PC group, you may be able to leverage that into an internal transition. Much easier said than done. If it were me I would get right into the M&A side, even if it is consulting, so you can spin the experience later when you want a better position, closer to the action.
