MGMAT Class vs. Self Study Program?
Hey monkeys,
Hope you're well. I just left my current firm and will be starting with a new firm in a 6-8 weeks. I will need a week or two to move to a new city, and am hoping to use the other time to get a 730+ on my GMATs. My question is - what are your perspectives on taking a Manhattan gmat course (they have an accelerated course that covers all of their material in around a month) vs. creating a self study program?
A friend of mine is willing to give me her full set of Manhattan prep books and materials. She didn't take a course, and did fairly well with a self study program she designed herself.
I prefer the structure that comes with taking a course, but don't want to have to spend time focusing on components that I don't need help on, or getting behind on things that I need to focus on more than the rest of the class.
My thoughts -
With a GMAT class, you have less ability to focus on your own strengths and weaknesses. With self-study, you can really hone in on your weaknesses to try to eliminate them. However, a prep course may expedite the process of eliminating your weaknesses from tips by course instructors. Additionally, I don't think my strengths and weaknesses are going to be tooo far off from those of most people in the class (much stronger in verbal than quant) and I can always do more self study on the side, even if I am taking a course.
Thoughts?
Thanks guys!

Do both if you have the means and resources to do so. Instructors have experience and have likely seen students just like you before and can probably help you identify your problems much faster. Especially if its a low time commitment like 2 hours per week. Then, spend your free time shoring up your weaknesses.
