Bro... 1g isn't a micro dose. That's easily enough to cause visual field distortions / make you trip. But yeah you're right, would 10/10 not recommend chomping a gram of mushrooms during work lmao

I've experimented with micro dosing LSD at work before and found it to make the day mildly more pleasant / gave me a nice, calm energy. My method was:

- Using ~100ug tablets

- Dropping tablets into a water canteen and letting it sit over night

- Pouring ~1 shot of the mixture in the morning

- Take 2 days on and one day off (LSD is taxing on your serotonin levels / broader neuro transmission, so you need to take days off to continue experiencing the desired affect

You can do the same thing with mushrooms, but there are a whole lot more variables to control for, i.e. different strains of psilocybin mushrooms interact with alkaloids present in some strains / absent in others, which can tremendously alter the experience, even in a micro dose.

I'd note that I would generally be extremely careful with psychedelics unless you are confident in your mental state. It's rare, but it can occasion a psychotic episode in people with dormant bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia.

Would not recommend, results can be very mixed and if you get hit with a stressful assignment on a tight deadline, focusing can be pretty difficult. That was just my experience with microdosing LSD though. It’s definitely fun outside the office, but LSD tends to make people more prone to anxiety. Not a good combo with a stressful job. Stick with adderall if you wanna mix up the work experience.

Microdosing is a really stupid idea. You might adversely change the composition of your brain permanently and need medical assistance to cope. Worst case scenario, you'll end up having to take pills to perform basic tasks for the rest of your life and/or end up disabled. Doing some research will confirm what I'm saying.

If you want to improve your productivity at work, drink coffee, and try to get as much sleep as possible. Don't rely on drugs to get through the day..

In all seriousness, I think a low dosage of mushrooms (0.3-0.5g) is fine when not in the office (you will still act and feel strange) and for tasks requiring creativity. Thus, within an investment context, certainly more useful for the buy-side or for research as opposed to rote tasks you often perform in IB.

Mushrooms can help to stimulate flow, which is useful for all tasks, but there are other, cheaper, more effective ways of doing so. One such way of priming focus is by staring at an object for a min or two, as visual focus is the first step in achieving mental focus.

wait, you guys actually do drugs :(

I thought it was just a meme :(

Taking a “trip” sized dose is a really cool way to appreciate where you are (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.) but you should be in a good place. Something unexpected or being in a really uncomfortable spot can turn the whole thing bad quick. Your senses all feel hightened and you grasp different perspectives really well.

Micro dosing gives you some of the experience but on a much smaller scale. You won’t see any visuals but you’ll feel a lot more comfortable and appreciative of your sorroundings.

I haven’t done them at work but feel like that would be stressful. I’d try micro dosing on a weekend and try looking over some work stuff for a few minutes and seeing how you feel. I could see it being really helpful and giving you different perspectives in your work, I could also see it being a waste.

TLDR: Shrooms are fun, do more drugs, just be in a good place ya know
