Microdosing Psilocybin Mushrooms

I've done the research and ordered the stuff necessary to get a pretty nice mushroom grow op going. I've decided to start microdosing. I decided during my last trip (11g) which I did last week. Anyone microdosing anything? How's it going for you? People are reporting some very exciting shit and I can't wait to start.

Well I'm not going to even have a harvest for 3 weeks, but plenty of people have written and spoken on this extensively if you're curious.

I normally don’t comment on here, since I’m still only a student, but I think this is one case where I might have a valid opinion. A lot of my friends have taken acid, psilocybin mushrooms/truffles/extract, and dmt.

I had a friend last semester who took (what he said) was about 400ug of acid. I hung out with him while he was tripping (a few other people were, and I was trip sitting). The night went as any other would, and we all ended up going to bed around ~3:30am. The next day, my friend said he wanted to try microdosing.

Long story short, he had an unknown family history of anxiety. He ended up going through a drug-induced, manic psychosis. The psych ward we brought him to said that the drugs had amplified the stress that he was under, and like some he “snapped”.

Now, many people can microdose these drugs and be totally fine. However, these psychs have become so damn romanticized that people think they’re the cure for everything.

I don’t know if you have any problems going on that make you want to consider microdosing, but I really don’t think microdosing will do you any better than a more-thought out plan or counseling.

Edit: I’m not out to say that studying these drugs is a bad idea, but we have little to no understanding on how these drugs actually impact our minds. The benefits don’t outweigh the risk IMO.

You're bang on with the glorification of psychedelics. One of my closest friends growing up had an extended stint where he was dabbling with mushrooms and acid that I would classify as "obsessive". The deeper into the stint, the more disconnected and esoteric he became. And just like Anonymous Monkey 's buddy, my friend had a family history with mental illness, specifically, schizophrenia, and when he finally snapped, he completely lost his marbles and now lives with a very serious condition.

I've touched the other side of insanity a few times with psychedelics and it's fucking terrifying. Thoughts you can't stop, voices you can't un-hear and anxiety that manifests physically. I'm of the personal opinion your organs can handle quite a bit more stress than your mental state can.

Not saying don't dabble, but what's the point in tripping for an elongated period of time? What's the point of dropping massive doses of psychadelics? The idea is tread carefully and briefly into psychosis to see what's in there, not to stay there.

I'll expand on this. I have a family history of anxiety, severe anxiety on the level of a actual disorder not just regular social anxiety. I used to be excessively anxious as a child, and while I have gotten over this in the last couple years, the one thing that breaks me to this day are Psychedellic drugs. Back when I was in school (not that long ago just graduated) me and my friends would love to do some blow occasionally, some amphetamines (adderall, dexedrine) once in a while, and obviously drink hard. None of that really brought my anxiety out, but when I smoke a shit ton of weed, or do acid, which I've tried 3 times, my anxiety goes full on crazy and I ALWAYS end up having a bad trip. It proves that in my subconscious, my anxiety still exists. Drugs like opiates, amphetamines, cocaine, molly or other uppers let you become "who you want to be", while psychs moreso reveal "who you are" (and your insecurities and weaknesses if you have any).

Going on a tangent I kinda think this is why you don't see any LSD addicts in rehab. You do see alot of cokeheads, skinny meth tweakers and obviously your retarted research chemical abusing morons, but psych abusers? not so much. I kinda feel this is because you have to be mentally ill to turn into an addict, and mentally ill people get fucked up by psychs alot more than normal people. I realize this is basically just a rant and I haven't actually said anything prudent, but what I was trying to get at is that if you have any history of mental illness (depression, anxiety) I would suggest you stay away from acid, and shrooms since they have the uncanny ability to break your mental schemas......and if you aren't true to yourself, you won't wanna see that. Atleast that was the case with me, my acid trip was so bad it made me go sober, and I haven't been fucked up on anything but alcohol for over 19 months now.

I agree with this. I stick to 420.

I prefer acid but microdosing has been super beneficial to me, personally and professionally.

Also, given your posting history, it’s worth noting that shrooms/acid have a pretty strong track record w/r/t moderating addiction/alcoholism.

Life's is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I micro dosed acid for an entire 2 months. My experience was a positive one, it took me about 3-4 days to notice the effects of microdosing but once I did I noticed I was more creative had a "feel good" vibe that felt natural and was rather extended, boring things were not as boring anymore and I became more proficient at reading people (which helps a lot). I recommend it if you know you're capable of handling psychedelics and dont have mental issues like anxiety/ptsd, I know that people with depression handle it just fine and if anything it helps them.

Make sure whatever you get is of the highest quality, you dont want some additive to make you feel sick or impact your productivity and also measure your doses well. One drop of 1/4 acid mix was perfect for me.

my thoughts on psychedelics are well documented on the "weed, shrooms..." thread, so I'll just say please do keep us posted goldie. I'll probably never do it (I'd rather not build up a tolerance), but I totally could buy the benefits for the right person.

plus you're ukranian, so your tolerance for everything is likely higher, go for it bro

I don't really understand your tolerance reasoning. You won't try psychedelics even once for fear of developing a tolerance? That doesn't make sense to me. I'm not saying you should do it. Just that particular reason doesn't make sense. Assuming tolerance is permanent - which it's not - why not just do it once then and live with a tolerance to a substance you'll never use again?

Anyway, all that shit aside, I started doing drugs and whatnot really young just because I was crazy curious. I've always done dumb shit just to see what it was like. I've always been curious what that curiosity is like for other people. Is it just weaker or are you just curious about different types of shit or do you just value risks way differently than I do?

clearly all the wrong shit based on your last post i replied to. you're very confident in your theses on how life works. so you should enjoy watching me self-destruct from afar and using that as a testament to support your worldview.

Ik this is an old thread, but just to jump in on the health aspects of shrooms, one way to reduce your risk of havign a bad trip is to assess your mental state before you take it.

Microdosing, at least for me, really enhances the emotions I was feeling before, you you need to make sure you're super relaxed and content with where you are. Also, halucinations are essentially when your brain plays a fill in the blanks challenge, so it helps when you're not anxious or stressed.

If you havent taken shrooms ever, don't do it alone

Also 11g is a shit ton. I'd say the average is like 2/3g for a trip, and microdosing is like a tenth of that

interesting stuff, I've been curious since I listened to the Tim Ferris podcast on the topic, but haven't tried it yet.... generally speaking I don't enjoy drugs, aside from my Adderal... I fucking love that stuff, but I really want to experience acid... I just haven't met someone to guide the journey that would feel comfortable with. I definitely will do it, but I want to ensure I set myself up for best conditions possible first.

. I have PTSD, and it’s controlled but prior to the right meds it caused some serious issues for me so I really need to be prepared to be safe
