I have the opportunity to go to a Middle market PE firm as an entry level analyst. I graduated from a non target December of 2014 and I'm currently an Analyst in a middle market transaction services group in Chicago. Long term, I want to be in private equity but I'm wondering if I would be better off staying here... or if I should go to this small PE firm(Probably about 20-30 people). I'll be making more at the PE firm, but the network is much bigger here in Chicago. Given this opportunity, what would you do? Why?

From the data you've supplied I'd go to the PE firm if you want to be in PE. Why? Because you want to be in PE and have an offer to be in PE and unless you have another offer in hand or you think one is coming soon from a bigger name or one in Chicago, I'd take the offer you have if that's what you want to do. I mean this with no disrespect, but coming from a non-target and working in MM transaction services isn't going to land you at KKR or one of the large MM funds (the level below the mega funds), so this gig sounds pretty ideal. Do your due diligence on the fund.
