MILITARY B-SCHOOL CANDIDATE

Here is my profile. What schools do you all think I should be targeting?

U/G: 3.3 in accounting at a large SEC school

GMAT: 730 Q49 V40

Work experience: US Navy Supply Corps Officer. 3 deployments to Persian gulf aboard a ship as Supply Officer. Currently in a two year fuels training program in which I will deploy (probably to Africa) next year as a fuels officer for a 1 year tour.

Volunteer work: Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor, not much other volunteer work, as I have been deployed quite a bit over the past few years.

What do you guys think? Do I have even an outside shot at H/S/W? I am very concerned about my GPA, as it is low. I was focused on the wrong things in college, but I don't really have a legitimate excuse for the poor grades to put on my b-school app (i.e. you can't put "was more focused on going out/partying than studying for freshman/soph year of college") I'm hoping that my GMAT can make up (at least somewhat) for this deficiency, but I'm not sure if it will be enough.

I would prefer to stay on the west coast (but I would certainly leave for H/S), so Haas and Anderson are top choices. The most recent Marshall employment report scares me a bit, as it seems like the school is moving in the wrong direction. I like Merage, but I don't think it makes sense to go there based upon my GMAT. Other schools I am looking at are McCombs and McDonough.

Long term: I think that consulting would be the best way for me to go, because I am going to be behind my peers in terms of business knowledge and the ability to see the operations of a lot of different businesses would be a great way to catch up. The industry interests me, and I love the idea of being able to help businesses. That being said, energy appeals to me because I will have 3 years experience as a Navy Fuels officer. Although, I'm not sure how applicable that experience would be for a company like Exxon or Chevron.

Thanks for any help you all can provide.
