I know this has been touched on before, but does anyone have any insight into the Moelis Boston office? How is the culture/focus compared to NYC/LA? Is it considered considerably weaker or on par with the NYC/LA locations? Why would one choose Boston over other locations?

Solid culture, way weaker deal flow. Analysts not too busy and have been known to cross staff with other offices for pitches, but are rarely first choice for high priority execution. In general, Moelis satellite offices tend to be much weaker than NY/LA, speaking specifically with Boston and Chicago offices in mind. SF and Houston have their own niches and are a separate conversation. Unless you have specific ties to Boston, would advise focusing on NYC or LA offices to get the best experience.

Never known as a strong office, but most banks in Boston have similar rep/deal flow to be fair. Bunch of SVB bankers joined incl. juniors. Lot of analysts and A2As from non-targets, exits also not that strong.
