For people in their early to mid 20’s I would recommend East village/lower east side. There is also meatpacking area for some of the “trendier” clubs. 

Depending on your budget, I would prefer to live in west village or soho (maybe Greenwich village) and go out in east village or lower east side. But those areas are expensive. I probably wouldn’t live right in LES as it can get loud, but depends what you want. Also depends where your office is. 

 

If it’s your first year in banking I’d recommend living relatively close to the office. Doesn’t need to be within spitting distance but would definitely recommend you live within a 20 min commute. First year can be pretty hectic and a short commute can help make your life easier. Also, make sure you’re close to major subway lines so you don’t need to Uber/taxi often.
